Are you a big fan of Star Trek; did you watch it over and over again? Well, one of the Start Trek franchise actors was Leonard Simon Nimoy. Born on Mar. 26, 1931, Nimoy was a film director, author, photographer, poet, American actor, singer and songwriter.
Moreover, he took on the role of Mr. Spock in Start Trek. Just like many other actors, Nimoy began with minor appearances on film and television. Nimoy passed away on Feb. 27, 2015 and left behind a legacy we can learn from and experience some life changing lessons.
Here are 3 life changing lessons everyone can learn from Leonard Nimoy:
Are you a person that likes to explore new things and do not have trouble doing so? Discovering new areas and exiting your comfort zone is one of the keys to find who you are and move closer to doing things we like. Nimoy actually served in the United States army and was a teacher before going onto acting on the Starship Enterprise. Nimoy played a bunch of small roles such as his role in “Zombies of the Stratosphere.”
This is good because we need to understand that we usually have to start from the bottom and work our ways up to the top. Even though Nimoy landed a defining role as Mr. Spock in Star Trek, he ventured off on several other paths including photography, music, and being an author. From this, it may be analyzed and concluded that Nimoy was involved in many activities and was not afraid of who he is. Moreover, this is an important lesson to learn because it may open many new doors and pathways we never thought available.
Treating others well and giving to others is very important and is more important than receiving from others. Treating others well can actually have a great backfire effect, one we do not necessarily notice immediately. Moreover, helping people and giving to charities could help encourage others around you mimic this act and develop a better community. Nimoy has done that and dedicated many hours and sums of money to charitable projects serving various areas such as space exploration, cancer research, and projects serving the arts. Nimoy says it well, “The miracle is this: the more we share, the more we have.” Giving others creates a great loving environment.
Do you feel like life is only about doing one thing and one thing only, or do you understand that is fine to move from one thing to another to find your ultimate comfort zone? Leonard Nimoy, probably most known for his role as Mr. Spock in Star Trek, tried out various walks of life. He experimented with various artistic fields, making him flexible. He tackled them with dedication and commitment.
There are many life changing lessons we can learn from many inspirational people, one of which is Leonard Nimoy. He started off with very minor roles and worked his way up to popularity and a very defining role in a well-known film. This in itself shows that we should not give up our dreams and always do whatever it takes to get there.
